Winter Wish Holiday Giving Program
Through our program, children and teens write letters to Communities In Schools of Tacoma requesting a holiday wish that will make the holiday brighter for someone that they know. For some of our children the winter holidays are especially challenging, many of them know of others who need a lending hand. You can help make the holidays a little brighter for our kids by participating in the Winter Wish program this year. Winter Wish ensures that it is possible to make dreams come true.
Past Wishes Granted
- Teddy’s to kids at Children’s Hospital
- Turkey Dinner for Mom
- Care package to brother in Iraq
Kids and families really appreciate the winter wish program. This video started as a simple hello to a brother serving in the Army, but it turned into a heartfelt message from home that highlites a family's courage and how important friends, support and caring adults are in the lives of our children.
“We really do have the best jobs in the world and are so lucky,” says Nicole McDaniel, McCarver Elementary School Site Coordinator. “We get to spend a day helping make the wishes of our students come true. “And the look on their face when their wish is fulfilled – well there’s nothing more rewarding than that.”
How you can help!
Let us know you’re interested in helping. We will match you up with a wish that you can help make come true.
Gifts
Winter wish gifts should be new items. You may also make a cash contribution instead of purchasing a gift. Please make your check payable to Communities In Schools of Tacoma or visit our donate area.
